Home > Alumni in the News > CAS Alumni Awards CAS Distinguished Alumni AwardsEstablished by the College of Arts and Sciences in 2004, the Distinguished Alumni Awards recognize the valuable contributions that alumni and friends have made to their professions, local communities, and to UB's College of Arts and Sciences. Awardees are honored at the College's annual Julian Park Society & Alumni Awards Dinner held in October of each year.
Dr. Julian Park Award (formerly known as the Medallion of Excellence):As the College's highest award, the Dr. Julian Park Award honors notable and meritorious contributions to the College of Arts and Sciences, which have stimulated its growth and improvement, and inspired others to give their active interest and support. 2009 2008 Gordon R. Distinguished Alumni Award:These awards are given in recognition of outstanding professional achievement with a national and/or international recognition, community or university service, or research and scholarly activity. 2009 Dr. Harvey Karp, BA '72 2008 Dr. Ann Kirschner '72 2007 Thomas J. Outstanding Recent Alumnus/a Award:This award honors the talents and personal and professional growth of the College of Arts and Sciences recent alumni. 2008 Dr. Cindy T. Cooper '99, '03 & '07 2007 Lauren Cabell, '92 2006
Distinguished Service Award:This award is designed to honor alumni for outstanding commitment, dedication, and service generously given to the College of Arts and Sciences and our students. 2008 Dr. Thomas R. Hyde 2007 Professor Joseph A. Gardella, Jr. 2006 Dean's Award:This award honors individuals who have made unique contributions to the College of Arts and Sciences and who have distinguished themselves thought their outstanding personal qualities, knowledge, and significant contributions to their fields.
