Arts and Sciences at the University at Buffalo encompasses:

• 27 academic departments and seven academic programs in the College of Arts and Sciences 
• 18 centers and institutes in the College of Arts and Sciences 
• Two acclaimed art galleries
• A world-class performing arts center

• Educates over 15,000 students yearly
• Utilizes the talent and inspiration of almost 500 faculty members
• 80% of all UB freshmen attend classes in the College  
• Fully 2/3rds of the credit hours earned by all UB undergraduates are earned in the College

By providing a liberal arts foundation, the College educates students to be prepared for life, not merely trained for a job. The College equips students with an educational foundation that will provide them with the ability to adapt to the changes and rise to the challenges that everyone inevitably faces during their lifetime.
